Longing for the day ...

Where have I been?

OK, so it's been a long time since I blogged.Quite frankly, it's been because I have been working too hard for other people and because I have been quite depressed and unable to find the energy for any of this stuff.

However, Musowiki is coming along slowly - battling spammers ATM. My second album is taking shape and will be co-produced with Colin Webber, who's an amazing guy and I hope will be as great to work with on music as he is to work with at JMC Academy.

I have pretty much not played touch this year. Only a few games on Friday nights when I don't have the kids.  I think the lack of exercise and my isolation, working by myself at home for long periods when I'm not at work, has contributed to the depression. Statistically, social isolation and lack of exercises are the best predictors of depression.

However, I have started reading "The Power of Now" by Eckart Tolle at the suggestion of Ed Guglielmino (buy his new album!). It's a bit ... different ... and I'm not sure I can go along with a lot of it, but it has made me reconsider my reactions to certain things that are happening in my life. I am much more at peace with myself and feel much happier in general.

I'm still writing songs - some ones I have yet to publish here will be on the next album. I'm playing at Generator Events' G9 festival on August 4. And I've been invited out to Dalby to help launch Songwriters Network of Queensland West. Can't wait to play some more shows! 

I have had many thoughts about things in the music industry but no energy to write about them. I have been posting via my Facebook and Twitter profiles, but not as much nor as deeply as I'd like. Hopefully this will get me fired up to resume my work helping Musos ...
