August 14, 2011Technical difficultiesOK, so I bought this really expensive PC because the salesman assured me that his company only used the best quality components and it came with a great warranty. Most expensive upgrade EVER and the ONLY one that has ever given me problems ... Never again ... I'm going Mac as soon as I can afford it ... Unfortunately I was forced to use it because my old PC (got about 7 years out of it) eventually had BIOS failure and died. I can live with that but the timing was crap because the laptop on which I have written a book chapter also died at the same time ... Technology hates me ... However, I think I have found a repair guy, who lives about 2 blocks from me, who has fixed the problem. Turns out to have been a faulty power supply. We hope. So far, so good and I'm back online. Right now I'm recording a song my daughter wrote on Pro Tools 9 with a MOTU Ultralite. It's been interesting ...
