Music as a visual artform

One of my immediate thoughts on the death of Michael Jackson was that his legacy is his contribution to making music a visual artform. Michael's songwriting was OK but fairly forgettable, his musicianship was also marginal ... but to way he moved and put on a spectacle, now that was really something.

His role in the development of MTV and the video Clip as a means to promote music is now set in concrete ... and should forever be respected and admired. He has a place in pop history that should never be taken away from him. But, on a lighter note, the clip below shows how this visual approach to music can be extended into something very funny ...
